In Class Assignment: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow
1.What is your reaction to the text you just read?
I really liked the
story I thought it was interesting bringing Batman into it. I also liked the
whole 30th century people coming to bring Superman a gift. In addition,
I thought telling the story in flashbacks was really well done. There were a
lot of parts of this different take on Superman comic that were kind of
confusing and not so clear. Lois’ baby in the end of the film spitting out the
coal piece wasn’t quite clear to me. Was the baby Superman’s? Or was it just a gifted baby someday meant to
do good?
2. What connection did you make with the story?
I didn’t really
connect with anyone except Perry. He saves Alice from being crushed by rocks. I
assume Perry is a really caring and a nice guy. I feel like I would’ve done
this for someone I really loved.
3. What changes would you make to adapt this story?
I’d make the whole
30th century hero/people more clear as to what they know. I’d also
explain the baby’s power in the end of the story better. Last I’d make some of
the antagonists have more character development like the bad guy from the fifth
dimension.
What medium would you use?
I’d use my filmmaking skills to make something like this if
I could or had too.
What changes would you make?
What changes would you make?
I would make it less trying to be artsy and make it more
action pact and less subtle so that everything would be clear to the audience.
